Pictures MUST credit: NBC Trans actor Elliot Page has spoken about their role in Christopher Nolan blockbuster movie The Odyssey . The 39-year-old’s casting as a Greek warrior despite being only 155 cm tall caused online controversy. Some critics wrongly believed Page would be playing Greek hero Achilles. But in fact the Canada-born star plays a fighter named Sinon who is left to guard the Trojan Horse and later speaks to Matt Damon’s Odysseus from the underworld. Discussing that scene on the USA’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon , it features Page emerging from under the ground on a sandy landscape. Page explained: “Well, I wasn't actually buried in the earth but people really were. “This was extraordinary stunt performers who were breathing through straws under the sand. “It was obviously very coordinated. Safety was key, of course.” Asked if Page did their own stunts elsewhere they replied without wanting to give spoilers: “Yeah. Something happened at the beginning of the movie to my character. “That was a practical stunt that I did, which was classic. It was great and moving.” Picture supplied by JLPPA | 00765357
